On 20 February 2026, Yan Kapranov and Dr Bożena Iwanowska delivered a keynote at the plenary session of the sixth All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference, Language and Literature: Contemporary Approaches and Linguodidactic Innovations, held in connection with International Mother Language Day.
Their presentation, Detecting Polish and Ukrainian Dialectisms with NLP: A Big-Data Approach to Speech Culture Formation in Higher Education, examined how natural language processing and large-scale data methods can help identify dialectisms in Polish and Ukrainian. The research also considered how such findings might inform language education and speech culture in higher education.
