A computational linguistics lecture at VIZJA University on 2 December 2025 gave students hands-on experience with AntConc, a corpus analysis tool. Yan Kapranov reported work with key-word-in-context concordances, collocations, keywords, n-grams and stoplists.
Participants built a small corpus, addressed text encoding and compared language registers before interpreting frequency patterns. The exercise showed how corpus tools can turn a collection of texts into evidence for linguistic questions. ARCTIS shares this example because corpus methods are central to its academic interests in multilingualism and translation studies.
