1 Eligibility and scope
Lecturers, researchers and other academic staff may apply for work in multilingual education, corpus methods, translation and terminology, or interpreting and spoken communication. Acceptance depends on relevance, a feasible programme and available supervision.
2 Format and duration
Placements may be on-site at VIZJA University, online or blended. They typically last from two weeks to two months. Exact dates, working language, total hours and the balance of meetings and independent work are agreed individually.
Calendar duration does not automatically establish training hours, credits or recognition by an employer. Travel, accommodation, insurance, facilities and any financial conditions are clarified before acceptance where relevant.
3 Application and individual programme
Submit the placement application with affiliation, objectives, preferred dates and format, relevant experience and any requirements of the sending institution. Membership of ARCTIS is a separate application.
Before the start, record the objectives, activities, dates, workload, supervisor, resources, expected output and assessment criteria in an individual programme. Obtain any required institutional agreement or referral separately.
4 Activities and supervision
Activities may combine methods consultations, workshops, observation, resource development and a focused research task. The supervisor provides feedback at agreed points. Participants keep a proportionate record of completed work.
Laboratory, software and data access require permission. An approved programme is not blanket permission to collect personal data, record people or distribute licensed materials.
5 Completion and recognition
The participant submits the agreed output and a short final report reflecting on achieved objectives. The supervisor records whether completion criteria were met and explains any outstanding work.
Completion documentation records actual dates, activities and verified hours where applicable. Recognition as professional development by an employer or another institution is determined by that institution. No accreditation or credit is implied.
6 Changes and documents
Changes to dates, workload or outputs are agreed and recorded. Withdrawal requires notice and a proportionate handover. Concerns may be raised with the supervisor, Director or appropriate University channel.
The documentation comprises the application, agreed programme, supervision confirmation, activity log and final report or assessment. Use the forms pack unless a required University form takes precedence.
These guidelines take effect only after approval. Current opportunities and applications are available on the Academic Staff Development page.
